David Marsh

David is an associate consultant with Caragh Consulting and is a former executive with Kerry Group and Diageo. David has 20+ years of experience in leading manufacturing, procurement and supply chain business transformation programmes in consumer products (beverage & food) and public utilities (nuclear).David has a MBA from Sussex University, is a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) and a Fellow Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport

David's specific areas of expertise are in process reengineering (manufacturing, supply chain and procurement), programme/change management and building executive sponsorship and engagement across geographies at all levels of the organisation.

David's principal assignments and roles have comprised:

  • As the Global Director Process Manufacturing Kerry Group, David led the design of the global template to optimise Manufacturing capability production, quality and engineering, using SAP as part of the Kerry business transformation programme
  • The design of the global template required the re-engineering of the manufacturing business processes aligned to the 1Kerry Operating model.
  • As the Diageo Global Process Owner - Supply Chain and Procurement David led the review and subsequent re-engineering of the end-to-end source to pay processes and the introduction of other value add changes to Procurement - guided buying, metrics dashboard, supplier performance management and category management, delivering spend reductions against a reduced supplier base
  • David led the deployment of the Product Lifecycle Solution across the supply centres to establish a global product data & information management system delivering standardised product & packaging specifications and reduced error and duplication of records
  • David led the deployment of a Manufacturing solution for spirits manufacture, cask maturation, blend selection and management. Benefits delivered - reduced operating costs and longer term strategic optimisation of stock to meet projected market forecasts
  • David led the deployment of global solution to manufacturing sites in emerging markets in Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America included 3rd party manufacturing partners and incorporating lean principles.
  • David developed a £28M business case with 4.3 years payback to deploy global manufacturing common process/system solution in North America, the UK and Ireland. The benefits were based on reductions in inventories and improved plant utilisation
  • As Company Programme Manager British Nuclear Fuels Plc David established a company transformation programme based on applying best practices in supply chain, production planning and maintenance and people management with a total programme budget £70M
